Steak and Potato Soup
1 pound stewing beef
4 cups red skinned potatoes cut into 1/4 inch slices
2 medium carrots sliced
1 large onion chopped in chunks
2 large stalks celery sliced
2 cloves garlic chopped (or 1 Tablespoon Dried Garlic Bits
1 Tablespoon Beef Boullion Granules or powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper
4 cans of beef broth
1 cup sliced mushrooms (Or 1 can undrained
2/3 cup water (or 1/2 cup, if using canned undrained mushrooms)
1/2 cup flour


Spray inside of crockpot with no-stick spray.
Mix beef with remaining ingredients, except for flour and water, in 5 quart slow cooker.
Cover and cook on low heat for 8-9 hours.
Mix flour and water in a small bowl with a whisk. Gradually whisk in water/flour mixture into soup, until blended. Cover and cook 30 minutes more, or until somewhat thickened.
Serves 6

**Russet potatoes can also be used, in place of red-skinned potatoes
